TRINITY VILLAGE NON-PROFIT HOUSING
DEVELOPMENTS AND JOINT VENTURES
About Trinity Non-Profit Housing Corporation
Trinity Village and Community Nonprofit Housing Corporation collaborates with the Church of God in Christ congregations and community organizations throughout the United States to develop high quality, affordable housing and rebated support services in targeted urban areas. The Housing Corporation was formed in 1990 with a mission not only to provide quality housing but with a mandate from God of ministry. With that in mind the corporation gathered together a group of dedicated professionals and after months of planning, consulting, and research, our first construction was on the way. The first multifamily development was completed in 1993 and the first families moved in. Since then we have developed approximately 2000 units of multi family and senior housing throughout Michigan and Indiana.
In its multi family housing, TVNHC is involved with a total of 16 housing developments. Six of these developments have been built independently by TVNHC and nine are joint ventures with for-profit developers. From birth, TVNHC has been involved in the management of its own projects. We work in collaboration with professional management companies to manage our properties and provide monitoring of financial reports which our funding sources require.
Trinity has been increasingly involved in assisting other churches across the United States begin housing developments in their areas. We provide technical assistance and guidance as they develop their first projects. The development of affordable housing is a complicated process, requiring financing skills, construction monitoring, and understanding of the legal issues involved. TVNHC has developed a training curriculum and model which we can share with other faith-based organizations to assist in learning the need skills for successful housing development.
Trinity Village Non-Profit Housing Corp. has been participating in the development of 2060 units of affordable housing representing an estimated real estate value of $98,090,379.00. Presently there are five projects under development in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois representing an additional 160 units of affordable housing with an estimated real estate value of $22,000,000.00.
A message from the founder….
Trinity Village Non-profit Housing Corporation was born from a strong desire to fulfill the biblical commandment of Jesus Christ which is found in Matthew 25:31-46 – “For I was hungered and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty: and ye gave me drink, I was a stranger: and ye took me in, Naked and ye clothed me, I was in prison: and ye came unto me. In so much as ye have done it to the least of these my little ones; ye have done it unto me.”
It is our philosophy that it is not enough to simply believe in the gospel but we must serve the TOTAL MAN; naturally and spiritually. As we looked around our community, it was obvious that decent affordable housing was not available for young families or for senior citizens. Thus, in 1990, Trinity Village Non-Profit Housing Corporation was formulated.
It is our mission to meet the needs of mankind by providing quality housing to help build neighborhood stability and independence. Since its conception, we have built housing throughout Michigan, Indiana and Illinois; over 2060 units and growing.

A message from the director: Judith Transue
As the director of Trinity Village Non-profit Housing Corporation, I have had the great satisfaction in seeing new and renovated housing developed in urban neighborhood and rural areas throughout Michigan and in other states across the United States. Trinity Housing has worked with partners in the housing, banking and faith communities to create good, safe and attractive housing for families and senior citizens. We have built small projects in rural communities to large family complexes in urban areas. All of our projects facilitate access to services and community involvement for residents.
Trinity has worked with other groups or independently to create over 1600 units of affordable rental projects. These projects continue over time to provide good housing for children, families, and senior citizens. We have also consulted with faith based groups across the nation who want to develop housing in their communities.
We have also more recently worked in our community of Muskegon, MI to rehabilitate 7 single family houses to which have been sold to low income home buyers, thus stabilizing neighborhoods and giving an opportunity for home ownership to families.
